Why I built it

How publishing works

  1. I write in markdown in the admin. Drafts autosave and every save is versioned, so two devices can’t overwrite each other.
  2. Publishing writes to DynamoDB. A change stream wakes up a publisher function.
  3. The publisher renders static HTML for the post, plus the posts index, RSS feed and sitemap.
  4. Files land in S3 behind CloudFront. No site deploy, no server rendering on each visit.
